Thank you for the RA Salvatore hate
Whenever someone tells me without irony that RA Salvatore is their favourite fantasy author I take that as a sign to abort.
I sat by this guy when I worked my first call center job who tried to seriously argue that Salvatore was better at storytelling, world-building, character creation and all around better at writing than Tolkien which sounds like one of those impossible scenarios misogynistic assholes on 4chan make into rage comics about girls who “like Justin Beiber more than “classical” music” but I swear to god it happened to me. I happened to put my copy of LotR down on my desk before shift started and he was all “Have you ever read RA Salvatore? He’s similar, but way better.”
